Full House!

I have a crazy obsession with the show Full House. I watched it all the time growing up, and I still watch it to this day.

I may even have a Jesse and The Rippers shirt...

So, you can imagine my surprise and extreme excitement when I found out that Uncle Jesse and the rippers were going to reunite on the Jimmy Fallon show and play!

Here is the video incase you missed it!

Uncle Jesse looks pretty much the same! I was also very excited that Aunt Becky came on to the stage as well!

I really wish they would have a reunion episode!

I will leave you with some very inspiring words from Michelle:

Where I have been.

Hello loves! I know it has been a super long time since I have written but lots happened!

I have a condition that is called Endometriosis. The Mayo clinic definition of this is: Endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus (endometrial implant). Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, bowel or the tissue lining your pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond your pelvic region.

I also tend to get many ovarian cysts that grow to be bigger than my ovary itself. This is extremely painful. I first developed these symptoms when I was 14. Some weeks, I feel good, others not so much.

Last month though, I got really sick from this. I was in constant pain and in and out of the E.R. After a long talk with my GYN doctor we decided that surgery was my best option.

I checked into the hospital on the 24th of June. I was in surgery for close to 4 hours where they removed a bunch of scar tissue and "spruced up" my ovaries.

I unfortunately am a very unlucky person who ended up with a million and one complications. This included extreme vomiting, a rash, an abscess and finally a kidney infection.

I am starting to feel a lot better now though and that is all that matters! I have a few pics from surgery day and that's about it. Hard to take pictures when you feel that bad.

It took 5 hospital staff and 7 attempts for them to get an actual IV in me. Those are the bruises that they left behind.

So yeah, that's what I have been up too. I will be back to writing more fun and less serious entries soon!!

By the way- David and I went home this weekend to see family and I got to spend lots of time with this cutie!

Influenster "I do" Vox Box!

I realize I have been missing in action for quite some time. I have had a lot happen and I promise to tell you all about it next week!

I signed up for Influenster a few months ago. I wasn't sure I would ever be picked to receive a box but to my surprise I was contacted about being sent the I do vox box!!

I must admit that I checked my mail multiple times a day to see if it had arrived yet.. I promise I am not crazy!

It finally arrived a few days later.

I quickly opened it to see what was inside.

I don't wear heels often. I can barely walk barefooted without tripping  much less in something that has any type of height. I did put these in the heels that I do have and they made them much more comfy. I did have a problem though with it not sticking properly to the soles of my shoes and the insole kind of slid around. It could have just been my shoes though.

Next was these lashes. I have always been intrigued about fake eyelashes but they kind of intimated me and I never took the plunge to buy them. These seemed really nice and I tried to use them but I had a huge fear of gluing my eyes shut so I didn't use much glue. Because of that, they didn't really stick well. I am open to trying again one day soon and hopefully I will have better results.

Then there was this toothpaste. It claims that it whitens teeth after one brushing. It does in fact make your teeth whiter, but it's due to it being more of an optical illusion instead of lasting results. The toothpaste had a very nice taste to it. But, I felt like my teeth didn't ever really feel "clean".  So I would really only use this toothpaste if I was going to a event where I wanted my teeth to look more white, instead of a everyday toothpaste.
I was super happy to see these q-tips! They are a must in my everyday makeup routine. I am awful at doing my eye makeup and constantly have to fix the mistakes I make. These were super helpful because they came to a point instead of a rounded edge. This made it super easy to get into the smaller places that I messed up on instead of messing with the parts that were perfect. I love these and plan on picking up more soon!

When I first saw this in the box, I wasn't sure if I would ever use it. I just kind of threw it into my purse and forgot about it. A few days later, I was at the movies when I started to get a headache. Movies are loud and my headache started pounding. Then I remembered that I threw this in my purse and dug it out and took it. The taste was actually not bad at all and the best part? My headache was gone in 30 mins!  I will be getting more of these soon. It's really easy to just throw it in your purse or gym bag and forget about it until you need it!
Finally, this was in the box. I looked over it and it had some really nice things in it. Unfortunately, being a college student, the prices were kind of steep for me. I gave it to my boyfriend though, and I don't think he enjoyed the hint. haha.

Overall I was super satisfied with the things I received and hope to get more boxes in the future!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Awkward Situations

Have you ever put yourself in a really awkward situation? I tend to do this daily. I apparently not only attract crazy but also this!

Let me tell you about some of these awkward situations that I put myself into.

1) One Thanksgiving, I was at my friend Anika's house hanging out with her family. We ended up downstairs playing beer pong for a few hours. I had to use the bathroom and went to the door and in my slightly intoxicated state, decided to just open the door instead of knocking like a polite person would. Anika's cousin Charlie just so happened to be in the bathroom at that exact moment. Now, keep in mind that this is the first time I have really met him. So I just swing this door open like I own the place and there he is doing you know, his business. Instead of saying sorry and shutting the door quickly like a normal person would do, I choose to stand there, staring at him. I open my mouth and out comes the words, "Oh, you are peeing". Then stand there for another 5 seconds before shutting the door. What the heck was I thinking?! I was mortified! We never spoke of it though, and I hope we never do. But that is one of those times that when I think of it I shudder.

2) So, I mentioned earlier this week that I was in my friend Meredith's wedding on Sunday. While at the wedding a see a woman that looks exactly like the woman that had altered my dress a few weeks prior. I proceed to walk up to her and say "Heey! You altered my dress!", this woman looks at me and says "No I didn't". She went on to say that she wishes she could do things like that but can't. A normal person would be like oh, I must have been mistaken, but I say something like this: Yes you did, don't you remember?! So, I basically accuse those poor woman of lying. I mean who would lie about whether they did something for you or not? About this time I realize that the woman who did my dress actually had a very thick german accent, and this woman had a very southern accent. I was so embarrassed. My face got really red and I walked away quickly. I later realized that the woman that I verbally attacked happened to be the grooms mother. oops.

I have many more stories of how I embarrass myself, but if I tried to write them all down, I would be here for days!

What is your worst awkward situation?

That One Time...A crack head got into the backseat of my car.

I am linking up with the beautiful Meighan from Heavens to Meighan for this super fun link up!

I spent a long time wondering just what I was going to write about. I decided to go with something that happened to me this weekend!

So, that one time, I was going to go get my nails done with my grandma and good friend, when I realized that my gas light was on. I struggled with whether I wanted to stop and get gas before or go home after and pretend that I didn't notice the light was on. Then when my boyfriend needed to go somewhere then he could deal with it!

But, I decided that I wanted to be a good little girlfriend and go ahead and fill the tank up. So, I pull up to this gas station and get out and start pumping my gas. That's when I heard a woman yell "Hey sexy!".

Obviously she wasn't talking to me because A. I looked like a hot mess and B. Who the heck would be calling me that?

Well I was wrong, this lady was in fact calling out to me. I watch this woman make eye contact with me while walking towards me. When she gets to the pump she says "Let me pump this gas for you sexy." I was a little stunned at this point and didn't get any words out before she tries to take the nozzle away from me.

I manage to get out a no thanks... and that's when it happened. She crossed over the hose and opens my backdoor and proceeds to climb in.

I was in shock, I mean who is this crazy lady, who I am sure is on some sort of drugs, and why is she in my car?!

I turned to her and said I will not hesitate to call the cops. That's when a man appeared out of nowhere and said "Get out of that girls car!"and "We told you to leave and I mean it, I don't want to see you around here!", and just like that she was out.

I seriously had no idea what just had happened. I was in such shock that I sat in my car after ( with the doors locked, obviously) just replaying it over and over in my head.

I attract crazy apparently.

So, because of that one time, I will now always pretend that the gas light is not on!

I suck...

So this post will be just full of excuses. I haven't written in quite awhile, but I have reasons why!

1) I had finals! So many papers to write and tests to take. I think I had nightmares every night about forgetting to do something!

2) In the middle of finals, we had to move apartments. This was an exhausting and crazy two days. We now have David's brother living in our living room until the middle of the next month, which means we don't have enough space for all of our stuff. We have lived here for almost a month and still have lots of things in boxes. Don't judge!

3) David got a job working with Bridezilla's for a week. It was long hours and I rarely saw him.

4) Our router just decided it had enough and died for no reason. David being the scrooge he is, wouldn't just go to the store and buy one. He had to find one online for the best deal he could find. While I am extremely happy that he watches what he spends, I am not happy that I am internet-less for days and days.

5) I had to take naps.. I mean come on, this is a huge priority!

6) I was in one of my good friend's wedding yesterday! It was a beautiful ceremony and I am so glad I got to be apart of it!

7) I had to find out where Amy went in the book, Gone Girl!

See, I was busy! Things have died down now, so I now have time to write all I want!!

My heart hurts.

So much hurt is going on in the world right now. We need to pray harder than ever. My heart is with the Boston Marathon victims, the Texas fertilizer explosions, and now the MIT shootings. I don't know what is going on lately but it makes me so sad.

I will have a real entry later today.

Five Things!

Since I am still feeling under the weather, I decided to steal borrow this idea from Allie who stole the idea from Jen!!

Five things...

... You will find in my bag
1. Aveeno Lotion. ( I can't live without this.)
2. EOS Lip Balm. ( Another thing I can't live without)
3. A Straw and a Plastic Spoon. (I'm not really sure why I have these in my bag or even how they got in there, but I guess I am prepared?)
4. Hand Sanitizer. ( No explanation needed)
5. Tide to Go. ( I spill everything on myself. I should add a bib to my purse because it's that bad!)

...You will find in bedroom
1. My Extensive DVD Collection. ( My number one favorite series in that collection would be FRIENDS.. I watch it every night before bed.)
2. Bottles of Water. ( I drink at least two at night.)
3. My Mac. ( Who wouldn't want that in their room?!)
4. My Pink Desk. ( I never use it though. It ends up being a catch all)
5. My Bookcase ( I read a lot of books. I have a kindle, but I like having my favorites in hardcopy.)

...I've always wanted to do
1. Run a 5k. ( I will make this happen!)
2. Explore Europe. ( I lived in Germany when I was younger but don't remember much)
3. Go on a Cruise ( Any one wanna come?)
4. Be a Mommy (Hopefully I am blessed to have this honor one day)
5. Be crafty.( This will never happen, I don't have a crafty bone in my body!)

...I'm Currently Loving
1. Rebel Wilson on the MTV Movie Awards. ( Love her!)
2. We The Kings new single "Just Keep Breathing". ( I can't get it out of my head)
3. Dr. Pepper ( Wait.. that is all the time!)
4. Full House (I found a website that plays it continuously 24/7)
5. Warm Baths with my Lush Bombs. ( I haven't been feeling well and doing this feels like heaven!)

...Quirks I have
1. I can't touch cotton balls. They make me wanna rip my nails off. Graphic yes, but it is awful!
2. When driving I obsessively tighten my seat belt. I feel like it should be super tight to me, and if it isn't it makes me uneasy.
3. I have to have all my DVDs in alphabetical order.
4. I like and eat ketchup, but I cannot stand the smell.
5. If I am eating candy, say m&m's, I have to eat all the reds first, then the yellows and so forth!

So that's me loves.. hope I didn't scare you too much with my crazy quirks!

The Over-sharer.

Sorry I have been MIA this week. I am having some health problems and the medicine they gave me makes me soo tired. So I have just been laying in bed watching Full House and Friends all week. Don't judge!

Anyways, lets get started on my post for today.

David and I are currently looking for a new apartment. A few weeks ago, we made a list of different apartments and went and looked at all of them.

The very last apartment we looked at had a very nice lady helping us out. The apartments were at the top of our budget and didn't have washer and dryer hookups. They were also a bit on the small side. They had bigger apartments that had everything we wanted but they were at a ridiculous high price.

Anyway, back to the story. The nice lady, let's call her W, took us a few apartments to show us around.  She immediately went into this story about how her daughter moved to a house of her own and one day that said daughter called her and said she wanted her to come over for lunch. When W got there, the house was a disaster with dishes on the floor, counters, and on the couch. The daughter of the year then said to her mom, "I thought that you could clean for me and I will go to the store and buy things for lunch and then when you are done cleaning, you can cook lunch for us". W apparently told her daughter that she wouldn't do that and left. The daughter didn't talk to her for months.

.... Why is this strange woman telling me about how awful her daughter is ?!

She even went on to tell us about how they don't watch television and that we shouldn't either. That her  husband is on the large side and wont exercise. Also, that she had to go to the pharmacy and wait 35 in line.

I couldn't believe that she kept going on and on about her life. I was so ready to leave.

W has now called, emailed and texted us about the apartment several times a day for like 2 weeks straight. She even called today and said that they had an AMAZING special and thought of us. Sorry lady, I do not want to be anywhere near you!

Has anyone ever dealt with someone like this and what did you do about it?

Bullying

Please forgive me if this post is all over the place, I am currently on pain medication and a little out of it.

So I watched the movie Bully tonight on Netflix. If you have never seen it then you need too. All I could do was cry the entire movie. I was bullied all through out school and I remember feeling the way those kids were feeling.

It breaks my heart that in todays society you can't really show who you really are because people have put into place a word called normal. I mean what is normal anyways and are we really normal? We all have different quirks and personalities and we all come from different backgrounds. So how do we all fit into this small margin of "normal".

The thing is, bullying doesn't just happen at school and to kids, it happens everywhere! I have seen more cases than I count of ADULTS behaving in this manner! It could be on the internet, at functions, church, playgrounds. It happens all the time!

This has to stop. We are destroying each other. We need to love one another regardless of who they may be. Who cares what ethnicity they are, if they believe in God, who they voted for in the last election or if they are gay. We are human, and we have feelings.

Instead of fighting, we need to stand together and love each other. Be kind to one another. Look past the flaws people have, see the good in them. We all are destined for great things and we need to help each other get there, not thrive to see them fail.

This is why I have decided that I am going to be a social worker. I will be an advocate for these people. I will make a change and a difference. I will stand up for what is right.

Will you?

Never Have I Ever...

While looking at blogs this afternoon I saw everyone doing this link up, and I couldn't resist!

I use to play this game all the time in my friends basement. It got kinda dirty at times, but don't worry it will be clean here!

Never have I ever....

1. Tried lobster. I have seen how sad they looked in the tanks at the grocery store. No thanks!

2. Watched Glee. Everyone I know is obsessed with it, but I have no motivation to even try to watch it.

3. Gone skydiving. Just thinking about this makes me feel like I am going to throw up.

4. Lived alone. I am a huge scaredy cat! I hate even being home alone overnight.

5. Asked a guy on a date. I am a lady after all :)

That's it ladies! I took me forever to rack my brain for these five. I don't know if that's a good thing or not..

Throwback Thursday!

It's Thursday! One more day until the weekend people!

When I get bored, I tend to look through old pictures. I came across some super amazing lame ones of me from high school. It's okay to laugh at these.. I deserve it! :)

Why did I ever think that this hair color looked good on me?!

Again with the hair color.. also what is with my shirt and shoes? I seriously believe I was thinking "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta". Also posing in Walmart apparently screams classy to me.

I may have been a little too excited to be Easter egg hunting...

Apparently when I drink I think this is acceptable...

Again with being gangster.. or maybe a football player? I don't know.

Now that I have embarrassed myself enough, it's time to go! I hope you guys have a great Thursday!

Food Allergies.

I have a lot of food allergies. I became lactose intolerant in high school. Thankfully there are pills for that because there was no way I was going to be able to give up ice cream! I did switch a few things, like drinking almond milk and such.

Then, a few months ago, I started getting sick again. Every time I ate, I would get so sick. I went back and forth to the doctors and after a million tests, I found the culprit.

Gluten.

This made me sad because I have a strong love for all things made of bread! Also, a lot of things have gluten hidden in it. There are no pills for this. I had to completely change my diet. It's been hard and extremely challenging.

But..

I have found a few staple items that I am in love with. I also found snacks that I could throw into my purse so if I am at some place that doesn't have something I can eat, I can pull that out.

Here are a few things that I have tried and loved!

Wow.. this makes me look like a five year old.. I promise I eat other stuff than just this! Lots of fruit and veggies!

Pit & Peak #2

button

This is my second week that I am linking up with Allie and Brin for my pit and peaks of the week! So lets get started.

Pits: I think my major pit this week is that I had to drop David off at the airport on Tuesday. He is in San-Francisco until Monday. While life is definitely more quiet, it's also lonely! I'll be happy to have him back.

Peaks: I have quite a few peaks this week! Since David has been gone, I have gotten in a lot of girly time with my favorite girls! Allie stayed over for two nights and we just talked our little hearts out. Now I am back in my hometown spending time with my best friend Anika for a few days. Staying at her house means that lots of margaritas are coming my way! That is always a peak! Lastly, is that while my toe is still fractured, I do not need to have surgery!

I hope all of you beautiful people have a great weekend and a very Happy Easter!

Lush!

I am absolutely in love with Lush and their products!

A few months ago I was having a problem with my hair being really oily even after I just washed my hair. I literally looked like I hadn't showered in days. This girl has NO time for that. I thought maybe it was because my hair got used to the shampoo and conditioner that I was using so I went out and got a different kind...That didn't helped.

So I tried no conditioner, no go as well. Got a DIFFERENT kind of shampoo, and THAT didn't work. I tried a clarifying shampoo and that still didn't work.

I was getting so discouraged and was looking for a homeless camp that I could join when I stumbled across a article about Lush and their hair products. I decided that since we had one in our mall that I would give it a try and see how it went.

After talking with the AMAZING sales associates there, I decided on a solid shampoo bar called Jumping Juniper that looks like this:

I know what you guys are thinking, a solid shampoo?! But seriously it's the best thing ever! All you have to do is get the bar and your hair wet and swipe it on your hair a few times and it creates so much lather! You wouldn't think that a few swipes would give you so much lather but it does! This shampoo is geared for oily hair!

Then I needed to settle on a conditioner that wouldn't weigh my hair down or make it oily. That's when I came across Veganese.
It's a super light conditioner that I just put on the ends of my hair. While I am not a fan of the smell, which smells a lot like lemons, I am a fan of how amazing my hair feels after I get out of the shower, and for that I will continue to use it.

My hair dilemma has been cured and I couldn't be more excited! Lush saved me from joining a homeless camp and quite possibly a life full of crime!

I also love their bath bombs and bubble bars but that's for another post! Have you guys ever been to lush? What are your favorite products?

Happy Birthday Allie-Cat!

I have known Allie since I was 16. We went to the same high school. We became best friends rather quickly and have been that way since. She knows all of my secrets and quirks. She was there when my mother died and was my biggest supporter when trying to graduate. She motivated me when I needed it, and told me the truth when I needed that as well. She will ALWAYS have a special part in my heart!

We have been through a lot of adventures over the years. These include:

Birthdays!

Double Dates!

Florida Road Trips!

 Easter!

Halloween!

Thank you for everything that you do love! You have the biggest heart and I know you will go far! :) I love you very much!

and I said sure..

I just dropped David off at the airport, and he will be gone for the next week for a conference. Driving home I was feeling a little nostalgic and thinking back to when we met and how we started dating. So I decided that it would be a good time to tell you guys all about it.

In October of 2004, I was 16. I had a few close friends and those friends introduced us to their close friends. So this girl, who I will call J, had a birthday party and invited us to come over. While there, David walked in with a few of his friends and I was immediately intrigued by this boy. I should mention though that I am a extremely shy person so no words actually came out of my mouth to him the whole time we were there. When he was leaving he hugged everyone in the room, but me. When he got to me, he said: Here ya go, and patted me on the head. I just stared at him and off he went.

We eventually started talking over Xanga and the good old myspace. A big group of us all hung out all the time, so I was seeing him quite frequently.

Then on December 13th, 2004, He drove me home and when we were hugging goodbye he asked me if I would go out with him. Being the shy, awkward girl that I am, I just said sure and walked away. I have played that moment in my head a million times with different ways I could have said yes. I'm so embarrassed of how I said. Silly me!

David and I have been together now for 8 years. We have had our up and downs. Relationships aren't easy and they are definitely not easy when you are 16 and trying to find out who you are. But we have grown so much and thankfully it was together and not apart.

Dresses, Girls, and Windshield Wipers!

I am linking up for the first time with Sami to talk about my weekend!

Friday: David and I drove to Fayetteville for the weekend to spend time with his family. I am going to be in my friends wedding in May, and my dress came in so I went and picked it up.
Here is a quick sneak peak of it!

We got our usual japanese take out and just watched tv for a bit and caught up with each other.

Saturday: I was extremely lazy and curled up on the couch and cuddled with the cutest puppy ever (Maddie) and watched the entire second season of Girls. I may be slightly  extremely addicted to the show and really bummed that it is already over.

What is she wearing on her head?!

Sunday: We drove back to Raleigh and on the way there it was raining. I mentioned that my windshield wipers sucked, and David was saying that he disagreed and he thought the left one looked good. Just as he was finishing his sentence, the windshield wiper broke into a few pieces and went flying off the car... So we had to make an emergency stop at the auto store.

Now it's Monday already! The weekend always seems to fly by.  I vote that Thursday and Monday should be included in the weekend from now on!

I hope all of you had great weekends!
