Pit & Peak #2

button

This is my second week that I am linking up with Allie and Brin for my pit and peaks of the week! So lets get started.

Pits: I think my major pit this week is that I had to drop David off at the airport on Tuesday. He is in San-Francisco until Monday. While life is definitely more quiet, it's also lonely! I'll be happy to have him back.

Peaks: I have quite a few peaks this week! Since David has been gone, I have gotten in a lot of girly time with my favorite girls! Allie stayed over for two nights and we just talked our little hearts out. Now I am back in my hometown spending time with my best friend Anika for a few days. Staying at her house means that lots of margaritas are coming my way! That is always a peak! Lastly, is that while my toe is still fractured, I do not need to have surgery!

I hope all of you beautiful people have a great weekend and a very Happy Easter!

Lush!

I am absolutely in love with Lush and their products!

A few months ago I was having a problem with my hair being really oily even after I just washed my hair. I literally looked like I hadn't showered in days. This girl has NO time for that. I thought maybe it was because my hair got used to the shampoo and conditioner that I was using so I went out and got a different kind...That didn't helped.

So I tried no conditioner, no go as well. Got a DIFFERENT kind of shampoo, and THAT didn't work. I tried a clarifying shampoo and that still didn't work.

I was getting so discouraged and was looking for a homeless camp that I could join when I stumbled across a article about Lush and their hair products. I decided that since we had one in our mall that I would give it a try and see how it went.

After talking with the AMAZING sales associates there, I decided on a solid shampoo bar called Jumping Juniper that looks like this:

I know what you guys are thinking, a solid shampoo?! But seriously it's the best thing ever! All you have to do is get the bar and your hair wet and swipe it on your hair a few times and it creates so much lather! You wouldn't think that a few swipes would give you so much lather but it does! This shampoo is geared for oily hair!

Then I needed to settle on a conditioner that wouldn't weigh my hair down or make it oily. That's when I came across Veganese.
It's a super light conditioner that I just put on the ends of my hair. While I am not a fan of the smell, which smells a lot like lemons, I am a fan of how amazing my hair feels after I get out of the shower, and for that I will continue to use it.

My hair dilemma has been cured and I couldn't be more excited! Lush saved me from joining a homeless camp and quite possibly a life full of crime!

I also love their bath bombs and bubble bars but that's for another post! Have you guys ever been to lush? What are your favorite products?

Happy Birthday Allie-Cat!

I have known Allie since I was 16. We went to the same high school. We became best friends rather quickly and have been that way since. She knows all of my secrets and quirks. She was there when my mother died and was my biggest supporter when trying to graduate. She motivated me when I needed it, and told me the truth when I needed that as well. She will ALWAYS have a special part in my heart!

We have been through a lot of adventures over the years. These include:

Birthdays!

Double Dates!

Florida Road Trips!

 Easter!

Halloween!

Thank you for everything that you do love! You have the biggest heart and I know you will go far! :) I love you very much!

and I said sure..

I just dropped David off at the airport, and he will be gone for the next week for a conference. Driving home I was feeling a little nostalgic and thinking back to when we met and how we started dating. So I decided that it would be a good time to tell you guys all about it.

In October of 2004, I was 16. I had a few close friends and those friends introduced us to their close friends. So this girl, who I will call J, had a birthday party and invited us to come over. While there, David walked in with a few of his friends and I was immediately intrigued by this boy. I should mention though that I am a extremely shy person so no words actually came out of my mouth to him the whole time we were there. When he was leaving he hugged everyone in the room, but me. When he got to me, he said: Here ya go, and patted me on the head. I just stared at him and off he went.

We eventually started talking over Xanga and the good old myspace. A big group of us all hung out all the time, so I was seeing him quite frequently.

Then on December 13th, 2004, He drove me home and when we were hugging goodbye he asked me if I would go out with him. Being the shy, awkward girl that I am, I just said sure and walked away. I have played that moment in my head a million times with different ways I could have said yes. I'm so embarrassed of how I said. Silly me!

David and I have been together now for 8 years. We have had our up and downs. Relationships aren't easy and they are definitely not easy when you are 16 and trying to find out who you are. But we have grown so much and thankfully it was together and not apart.

Dresses, Girls, and Windshield Wipers!

I am linking up for the first time with Sami to talk about my weekend!

Friday: David and I drove to Fayetteville for the weekend to spend time with his family. I am going to be in my friends wedding in May, and my dress came in so I went and picked it up.
Here is a quick sneak peak of it!

We got our usual japanese take out and just watched tv for a bit and caught up with each other.

Saturday: I was extremely lazy and curled up on the couch and cuddled with the cutest puppy ever (Maddie) and watched the entire second season of Girls. I may be slightly  extremely addicted to the show and really bummed that it is already over.

What is she wearing on her head?!

Sunday: We drove back to Raleigh and on the way there it was raining. I mentioned that my windshield wipers sucked, and David was saying that he disagreed and he thought the left one looked good. Just as he was finishing his sentence, the windshield wiper broke into a few pieces and went flying off the car... So we had to make an emergency stop at the auto store.

Now it's Monday already! The weekend always seems to fly by.  I vote that Thursday and Monday should be included in the weekend from now on!

I hope all of you had great weekends!

Pit and Peak!

button
I am linking up for the first time with Allie and Brin to talk about my Pit and Peaks of the week!

I saw that a bunch of people vlogged their pit and peaks, but I am in no position to do that today. I would scare everyone away with how crazy I look right now! Maybe next week.

Pit:
My pit of this week would be that I have broken my big toe and might need surgery to correct it. How I broke it is quite the story, and maybe I will share it with you next week. I haven't been sleeping well, because of the pain and the medicine they gave me isn't working too much. I have an appointment next week though. Fingers crossed that I will be fine.

Peak:
My peak of the week is that I am going home to see my family this weekend. All of my favorite restaurants are there! Another peak is that David's grandma finally got out of the hospital, after being in there for a few months. We get to spend a lot of time with her this weekend and that makes me happy!

First Post!

Hey Guys! My name is Carrie and I am 21 25 years old. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina in a apartment with my boyfriend, David, and his brother and best friend. Yes, I live with THREE boys. Over the past 3 years I have learned that nothing is shocking anymore when it comes to boys. They are gross, plain and simple.

As I mentioned above, I live with my boyfriend David. We have been together for 8 years. We met and started dating when I was 16 and he was 17. No, we are not engaged yet.. I am still waiting for that :) David recently graduated and we are waiting to find out where we are going to move!

I am currently enrolled full time at my local community college. I still do not know what I want to do. I feel silly saying "I don't know what I want to be when I grow up" but it's true. It's a toss up between something in the medical field or social work. I guess I will see where the wind blows me, that's more exciting anyways, right?

I am ridiculously clumsy and you can find 4 or 5 bruises on me at any given time. I am obsessed with TV shows and movies.

I guess I should wrap this up. Stay tuned to learn more about me and my crazy quirks. I always have hilarious stories about my life that I would love to share with you guys!
